WAQA Needs You!!
All Committee positions become vacant at the AGM so here is your opportunity of the year. It is time to consider becoming a committee member and embarking on a year of exciting and interesting new experiences. So much to learn! So many new people to get to know! A chance to give something back to the Association that we all love! Why would you not?!!
With so many options to choose from, where do you start? Go to the Website and read the job descriptions. If a position interests you, contact the current committee member for more information, or anyone on the Management Committee. We are here to assist you. All jobs come with training and ongoing support.

Take a look at the known ‘SITUATIONS VACANT’ below, but don’t feel limited to those. Offering to take on someone else’s position might just free them up to explore something new. You can only hold one Management Committee position, but you can also hold a General Committee position or several.
Keep in mind that all the wonderful things we enjoy about being a WAQA member don’t simply happen. Your volunteer committee enables them to happen, and we need help. We would love for you to join us.
SITUATIONS VACANT
EXECUTIVE POSITIONS
President. This is your chance to be the head honcho and lead WAQA into the next 50years.
Management committee experience preferred, but not essential.
Vice President. 2IC. The next best thing. Work as a team with the P. (Make a team with a friend).

Treasurer. Are you a numbers person? Have accounting or bookkeeping experience? Then this job is for you. Our retiring Treasurer is happy to get you started.
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
Sponsorship Coordinator
Look after our generous sponsors, negotiate their contracts and keep them happy.
Member Services Coordinator
This job assists the people in your ‘team’ and provides representation for them to the management committee
GENERAL COMMITTEE
Historical Preservation Officer
Do you have a soft spot for the rich history of our artform? The WAQA collection needs a carer to give them an airing and show off their beauty once a year.
Sponsorship Event Convenor
Do you love to plan a party? Grab a team of friends and come up with a plan for our annual ‘visit the sponsors’ event. Your ideas welcomed.
Pop ups Convenor
Here is something we all look forward to. And we need someone to keep their finger on the pulse of our talented members who may have tips or techniques to present and share.
Librarian
Are you a Bilbliophile? (a person who loves and admires books? Especially P&Q books). Then this is for you.
Sewing Day Hostess Convenor
Plan a roster of groups to host our meetings and ensure that we all get a cuppa and a tasty snack.
Sewing Night Hostess Convenor
Same as above but for night owls.
Workshops Convenor
Wonderful WAQA workshops! Let’s keep them coming. You would work closely with our accredited teachers, under the guidance of the Member Services Coordinator.
