WAQA 50th Anniversary Gala Event

Bookings for the WAQA 50th Anniversary Gala Event will open on 16 June 2026 at Sewing Day and Sewing Night. Tickets can be purchased through the Treasurer or booked online.

If you wish to be seated together as a group, please use the same group booking name on all forms.

Please advise at the time of booking if you require a gluten-free option.

Join us for a delightful afternoon tea in the beautiful Perth Town Hall as we celebrate this significant milestone in WAQA’s history.

We are thrilled to welcome Gloria Loughman as our guest speaker. Gloria is world renowned for her magnificent quilts and inspiring presentations. Her workshops at Handcrafters House sold out almost immediately due to her popularity. Gloria has generously agreed to be our guest speaker, making this a very special occasion.

Early Booking Prize Draw

To add to the excitement, members who book their tickets between 16 June and 22 July 2026 will automatically go into the draw to win a place in Gloria’s exclusive three-day workshop, valued at $495.

This wonderful prize has been generously donated by Michelle Pearson of Handcrafters House, one of our Gala Event and Diamond Sponsors. It is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who missed out on securing a place when the workshop first sold out.

With limited seating available, we encourage you to book early. The prize draw will take place on 23 July 2026.

Quilt Exhibition

A special exhibition of quilts will be held in the Town Hall foyer from Monday 17 August to Friday 21 August 2026 and will be open to the public free of charge. This exhibition will highlight the diverse techniques used in current quilt making. The exhibition will be refreshed for Saturday, featuring Anniversary Quilts created over the decades. Guests are invited to arrive early to view the quilts displayed in the lower foyer before making their way upstairs, via lift or stairs, to the main hall.
