First Retreat for 2026

Our first Sleep Retreat for 2026 was held at Shoalwater in late March with a full complement of ladies attending.

The weather was not too pleasant with remnants of cyclone Narelle bringing rain for most of the time. A few ladies braved the ocean for a swim whilst others had a bit of a soggy walk being caught in heavy showers.

Many beautiful quilt tops were made with some beautiful hand embroidered ones shown as well as two Anzac Day quilts and two pretty quilted children’s jackets completed.

A raffle was held and first prize of a quilt kit was won by Kerry, with Shirley winning our game of “strip poker” and was the “lucky??” recipient of 80 odd strips. Another fun activity one afternoon was an impromptu machine cleaning exercise with a few people finding “felt like” material hidden in their bobbin area!

Another great retreat at Shoalwater and now looking forward to our next Sleep Retreat in May at our new venue at Toodyay Homestead.
