Community Quilts Bazaar on Tomorrow

Community Quilts will have their twice yearly bazaar at the February Sewing Day and Night. There will be lots of donated quilting fabric available for sale by weight at $12 a kilo. Each piece of fabric in the boxes is generally a fat quarter or more, but as it has all come from other people’s stashes, the amount available of any print can vary considerably. This time, there will be available some pre-cut squares, strips and even binding. Please note 1 kilo of quilting fabric is somewhere between 6 to 9 metres so you will be getting quite a bargain when making a purchase at the CQ Bazaar.

In addition, there will be plenty of other items available as recent donations have included non-quilting fabric, ribbon, yarn, templates, rulers, thread, patterns, lace. The non-quilting fabric will be $10 a kilo and some of the ‘newer’ items will have a ticketed price. However, the majority will be sold under the ‘make us an offer’ arrangement.

As always cash or card is acceptable and the proceeds of the bazaar go towards the purchase of batting and backings for finishing off quilts that CQ then donates to the community. Check out photos of recently donated quilts in the Community Quilts Donations section on the Galleries of Quilts page.
