WAQA COVID Plan

WAQA has many members in higher risk categories (of older age and/or with existing health conditions) therefore it is really important that we take public health advice seriously. The WAQA Management Committee passed a COVID Plan at the Management Meeting on Thursday January 27 that puts in place the protocols as listed below. The Committee wanted 'to provide an environment with reduced risk of COVID transmission for all WAQA meetings' and thus included the proof of double vaccination requirement which is above what is presently mandated for some of the venues hired.

The full COVID Protocols for WAQA are listed below and you can print the document if needed.

COVID Protocols for WAQA

Aim: To provide an environment with reduced risk of COVID transmission for all WAQA meetings, whilst complying with the State Government COVID-19 current guidelines.

Proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations: Check and record proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations in either digital or paper-based format before entry to ALL WAQA meetings.

Mask Wearing: Comply and enforce the State Government guidelines at all WAQA meetings.

Social Distancing: Provide adequate space to enable State Government recommended 1.5m physical distance between members where possible. Best done by reducing numbers when necessary.

Updates: Changes to these protocols will be necessary as the Government Guidelines change. (WAQA Constitution 18.6)

Notification to Members: These protocols to be published on all WAQA media platforms and republished as changes are required.
These protocols to be managed actively by all convenors of WAQA meetings, Special Interest Groups and events.
