QuiltWest 2023 in Association with Craft Alive 2023

Thursday August 3rd – Sunday August 6th at Robinson Pavilion, Claremont Showgrounds

ENTRIES ARE OPEN NOW UNTIL MAY 31st

QuiltWest is an annual event held by the association to showcase the artistry and creativity of our members. It is a great opportunity for our very talented people, from beginners right through to experienced members, to display their creations to family, friends and the wider public.

This year’s theme is Texture and Pattern however you do not have to be restricted to this. You can enter pieces under any style or genre that you love. There are numerous categories under which you can submit entries, including a new category of “RECYCLED” in which quilts can be made from recycled or repurposed fabrics.

All quilts submitted will be displayed. This is not just a competition for the best of the best. It is for all of us and the more submissions we receive, the better the display will be. Remember we were all inexperienced at one time, so please don’t think your work is not good enough to enter.

Entries are open now and will be accepted until the end of May. Entries can be completed online (preferred) or on hard copy. You can submit up to 4 items for the one entry fee of $20.

As the event was cancelled in 2022, any of last year’s entries can be entered again this year.

The quilts must have been pieced and quilted by financial members of WAQA.

Volunteers are always welcome to help with the set up and running of the competition and, as an added bonus, if you volunteer you will get into the event free.
