Piecing Pop Ups at September Sewing Meetings

Robyn Freeman demonstrated three methods of foundation piecing at the pop up at sewing day and night - the traditional method using thin papers, the freezer paper method and lastly, using interfacing. Robyn’s quilts, involving lots of fine points and seemingly intricate piecing, were much admired.

Robin Gardner gave a pop up demonstration at sewing day, on ‘serendipity piecing’ which involves free cutting fabric using a rotary cutter, without a ruler. She also showed how surprisingly easy it is to piece the curves, resulting in fun quirky quilt blocks. We would love to see any blocks inspired by this clever technique.
