A Trip Through Asia with Quilting

Whilst some people are keen to travel overseas and have already booked their trips, others like me are prepared to wait a little longer and only travel interstate (finally visited my sons in Canberra), So it was quite a treat to take a trip through Asia by attending the Amazing Asia event put together by Lesley Clugston with lots of help from other WAQA members.

The General Meeting held in early April, was short and sweet and quickly followed by a presentation from six presenters, Lesley Clugston, Phil Thomas, Ross Ellis, Helen Dalgleish, Liz Dawes & Jan Rowe, each showcasing a part of Asia and some related aspect of quilting.

Those attending on Wednesday night travelled through sight and sound to Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Cambodia and India to name a few countries mentioned by the presenters.

There were quilts to see, fabric to admire, photos to enjoy, and objects to marvel at, as we wandered around the Alexander Park Craft House in masks as per current restrictions.

All parts of the hall were put to use to display the many contributions from WAQA members. A big thank you to Lesley for making this event a reality and for all who contributed items or their time to make the evening such a success.
